I have to drive to Gastonia today. I’ve never been there on purpose.
At this moment I’m not sure how to get to my cousin Roger’s house. And I need to leave in about 20 minutes.
But I’m not worried about it.
My mother and father are also going and he’s told me multiple times that my mother has the directions written down. I think he’s nervous for me.
I’m not bothered because I have something better than written directions. I have a spoken word. I get turn by turn directions. If I miss a turn, I hear “recalculating”.
This function saved me on the interstate in Raleigh a couple of years ago.
It gives me great confidence on a matter that was once a great weakness for me. I would get lost a lot. A lot. A lot.
Of course, I’m talking about the GPS app on my iPhone.
Love it. Love my iPhone.
But as a Christian I have something better than GPS and an iPhone.
God speaks to me and He also gives me turn by turn directions. Through the Holy Spirit, often repeating Scriptures I have stored in my heart, He lets me know when I take a left that should have been a right.
He guides me. I once was lost. But now I’m not. I once lacked confidence.
Now I don’t.
God is so good.
