Psalms 16:11 has been ringing in my head lately and I don’t know why.
“In your presence is fullness of joy”.
It’s never been a key Scripture for me like Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” or Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” But I must have read Psalms 16:11 recently, although I don’t remember when and it’s stuck with me.
Is it because I struggle with joy? I mentioned in my Who’s Driving post that I worry a lot. Is the Lord trying to remind me that He is the source of my joy and the elixir for my anxiety?
Is He trying to tell me that ONLY in His presence is joy; that money can’t bring me joy? My wife, my kids, my parents, my job can’t bring joy to my world?
I’ll be in God’s presence when I die, but I think that Psalms 16:11 means more than that. How do I ignore the presence of the things that stress me out and get into the presence of the Lord where this illusive joy resides?
